Amenities and services

Everything necessary for a comfortable stay can be found within the Valley's confines. A free shuttle bus service will even provide transport to most of the areas.

Curry Village hosts the Mountain shop, showers, Fast food plus a fine Pizza deck. Yosemite village contains a grocery store and the famed Degnan's Deli, home of the local discussion arena for the climbing scene. The Lodge area is the Restaurant center, including a Cafeteria, all you can eat buffet and the Mountain Room bar.

Camping and rooms are available throughout the valley and surrounding towns, though reservations are usually necessary. Sunnyside campground is the usual climbers locale, to acquire of the non reserveable sites you must show up early in the morning and await the ranger at the campground's kiosk. Once established in Sunnyside (Camp 4) you are amid the largest extent of developed problems.

The best bouldering season is usually autumn, its crisp dry temperatures are perfect for the smooth hard granite. Spring can also afford good conditions before the days heat up.

San Francisco is the closest major city, roughly three hours drive entering the park via highway 120. Access from the south is through Fresno then hwy 41. Driving from the East can be problematic both early and late in the season; hwy 120 through Tuolumne (Tioga Pass) is frequently closed by storms, and some years may not open until June. If all the other passes are closed I-80 North of Lake Tahoe is the closest point to cross the Sierras.
